This month we will be working with standard elastic, Fold Over Elastic, or a bias casing and PUL fabric to make bowl covers – These are simple and handy – I don’t know about you, but I can’t always keep track of what lids go to what bowls! Because of the elastic or casing on these bowl covers, they can fit multiple sizes. They are washable and easy to store. You can make them any size, but I’ll have patterns for 8”, 9”, 10”, 12”, and 14” circles. The 14” size works well for a standard size dinner plate. You can use Quilt weight cotton, a cotton blend, or PUL – the PUL will make the cover more protective, but none will provide an airtight seal.

Hi I'm PJ

Since 2006 I’ve been a teacher at Montavilla Sewing Centers in the Portland Metro area. I design, produce and teach the monthly projects for Babylock Serger Club, Janome, BabyLock and Brother Machine Embroidery Club, and 8” Block of the month Club.

I have a lot of fun creating projects, designs, and patterns that incorporate techniques and products to encourage the students to get the most out of their Sergers or Embroidery Machines.
